Why Health and Fitness matters
Health and Fitness supports pupils’ physical and emotional wellbeing. Through movement, pupils develop body awareness, regulation, confidence and healthy routines.

What pupils learn
Learning is matched to each pupil’s developmental stage and includes:

·       movement, coordination and motor skills

·       sensory regulation and body awareness

·       personal hygiene and healthy routines

·       nutrition, rest, hydration and exercise

How we teach Health and Fitness

·       through movement, sensory play, games and physical activity

·       using outdoor learning, rebound therapy, sensory circuits and daily movement breaks

·       through dance, sport, hygiene routines and relaxation activities

·       by supporting pupils to build confidence, regulation and positive attitudes to health
