Family circle is a safe and supportive space in which families can come together to share questions, ideas, worries, frustrations and pride that they experience in parenting a child with extra needs.
Family circle has become a central part of school life by bringing our school community together to listen to the people who know our pupils best – the families.
Pre-covid, every half term we met in school, shared lunch together, and had training, visiting speakers and staff-led sessions on various topics that were relevant to the young people in our school.
During this uncertain time of social distancing we have turned to zoom, and every half term we plan to have a session focussing on a specific topic. This half term we focussed on E-safety, and next half term the topic will be communication.
Every week on a Tuesday at 12pm we are going to run a ‘cuppa and catch up’ zoom with Becky, our Family Support Worker, and Tom, one of our teachers. The idea of this hour long session is for parents to pop in for a chat, ask any questions they may have and get to know other parents. We’d love it if you could join us
