Fox Hollies Special School

Friends of Fox Hollies

'Friends' is a registered charity that exists to bring our school community together through social events, whilst raising much needed funds for the school. Typical events organised by 'Friends' include school discos, curry evenings, bonfire nights and Christmas Fayres.  'Friends' are volunteers made up of families and staff both past and present.

If you would like to support the work of 'Friends' or get involved, please contact our Chair, Nicky Ratcliffe in school; she would love to hear from you!

Currently 'Friends' have two ongoing fundraising commitments:

Supporting the running costs of a SCHOOL MINIBUS.

Allowing our pupils to get out and about in the community and learning real-life and functional life skills such as visiting shops, parts, and leisure centres.
The minibus is also vital for taking pupils away on residential trips.
Our fundraising is vital as we will have to replace our minibus in the future.

Refurbishment and ongoing maintenance of the HOLIDAY LODGE

We are very fortunate to own a holiday lodge at Parc Y Haven site at Pwllheli, North Wales in a beautiful setting right next to the beach and with access to all the facilities on the Haven site. It was built with funds raised by 'Friends'.

The lodge sleeps 10 people and is available to book at a fraction of the full rates charged by Haven. Pupils and their families have first priority for booking in the school holidays and at weekends from early April to late October each year. To enquire about a booking please contact the school office.

Please note:

The lodge is currently in need of repair and refurbishment and therefore in light of this and the ongoing pandemic, bookings for this year are temporarily on hold.
