Class 1G
To all 1G parents,
I hope you are all are doing well under the challenging circumstances.
We aim to make this difficult change in routine as easy and enjoyable as possible for yourselves and your young person by offering ideas, resources and links to helpful online activities.
Worksheets and paper based activities are not necessarily motivating and appropriate for the students from 1G. Therefore, the suggested activities have a practical interactive focus that aim for enjoyment and fun whilst developing skills. All the suggested activities are easily achievable within your home with everyday household items.
The resources and activities also aim to meet some of your young person’s sensory needs. Sensory exploration is something that we give frequent opportunities for at school because it can support the emotional wellbeing of our students.
As a mom myself, with two small children at home I am aware that people might be feeling the pressure of educating children from home. However, instead of adding pressure to yourselves during these challenging times, I personally have found it helpful working with these simple principles when developing a home-schooling mind-set:
· Develop a new sense of the daily routine
· Give time for interacting and enjoy each other’s company
· Get creative and make things together (using the resources and ideas from the 1G class page)
Keep looking at the school website for more information and resources. We'll be adding new ideas and resources onto the website over the coming weeks.
Thank you
Grace
