Post 16

Our Post-16 provision supports pupils aged 16–19 to prepare for life beyond school through a personalised, practical and meaningful curriculum.

All students follow either an informal or semi-formal pathway, ensuring learning is tailored to their needs while remaining part of a shared curriculum.

Learning is delivered through real-life, project-based experiences such as:

  • running cafés and events

  • leading activities for younger pupils

  • community visits

  • creating performances, exhibitions and digital media

Pupils develop skills in:

  • communication and independence

  • functional literacy, maths and digital skills

  • Preparing for Adulthood (PfA)

We recognise that pupils move on to a range of different destinations, including further education, supported employment or community provision. Our focus is on ensuring every pupil develops confidence, independence and meaningful participation in adult life.
