Fox Hollies Special School

Fox Hollies Special School

We have Post-16 students across all 4 pathways at Fox Hollies School. Every student works towards their personal targets, however the core principles of the department is to prepare the students for what ever adulthood may look like for them.

Our whole school values incorporate equality of opportunity, valuing our staff, providing a supportive environment and enabling our students to find their place within the community. Post-16 student follow a specialised all-inclusive curriculum, ensuring that they leave with the right tolls and values to help prepare them for adulthood.

Post-16 still follows the whole school curriculum themes, but they have a overarching vocational objective, that strengthen relevant learning opportunities to 'Prepare for Adulthood'.

We assess and evaluate the students progress through progress towards their personal targets. We use MAPP as an assessment tool, and targets are formulated against the 4 strands of their EHCP: Independent Living, Employment and Life-long learning, Community Inclusion and Health.

The Curriculum for Pathways 2 and 3 is broken up into 7 main curriculum areas, and lessons/timetables are formed around these areas.

  • Independent Living
  • Functional Learning (Core subjects)
  • Me and My Community
  • My Health and Wellbeing
  • RHSE
  • Vocational Learning
  • Functional Communication
