Family Circle
Family circle is a safe and supportive space in which families can come together to share questions, ideas, worries, frustrations and pride that they experience in parenting a child with extra needs.
Family circle has become a central part of school life by bringing our school community together to listen to the people who know our pupils best – the families.
Pre-covid, every half term we met in school, shared lunch together, and had training, visiting speakers and staff-led sessions on various topics that were relevant to the young people in our school.
During covid we turned to zoom, and every half term we held a session focussing on a specific topic. We’ve covered topics such as communication, behaviour, e-safety and benefits.
We are pleased to announce that we are back to holding face-to-face half termly morning meetings now. We recently held one about benefits which had good feedback, and our next one in the Summer term will be around behaviour management.
If there’s anything you would like to talk about as a group, then please let me know!
